TH 421 - Tonal Counterpoint


3 credit(s)
An introductory course in tonal counterpoint. Writing and analysis of music in two, three, and four voices using the techniques of melodic development, imitation, and invertible counterpoint. Emphasis on the invention and fugue of the 18th century. Usually offered in alternate years. Three hours weekly.
Prerequisite(s): TH 211  or equivalent.
