DPT 635 - Integrated Experience III

A continuation of DPT 535 , this course provides physical therapy students with practical application of principles and techniques learned during the academic portion of the semester, as well as a greater appreciation for the field of physical therapy. Students participate in a weekly halfday observation at a selected acute, subacute, pediatric, outpatient, or specialty sites in the Greater Hartford community. Using the skills developed in the curriculum and previous clinical experiences, students expand their ability to evaluate, diagnose, and provide intervention for a wide variety of patients/ clients in physical therapy. Students broaden their clinical decision-making, reasoning, judgment, and reflective clinical practice skills, and are expected to demonstrate professional behaviors in all interactions with patients, clients, families, caregivers, and other health professionals. This course also continues to facilitate the development, measurement, and assessment of professionalism.
Prerequisite(s): DPT 535 .
