AFR 224 - Jazz Theory I

This is a course on the basic elements of the Jazz language. Facility with the following elements will be developed through in-class writing drills and assignments: modal and symmetrical scales, seventh chord structures, upper partials, chord symbols, the Roman Numeral system and standard harmonic progressions.
Prerequisite(s): TH 111  and TH 112 , or permission of instructor.
