DFA 450P - Senior Dance Composition


2 credit(s) High Impact Practice: Capstone
This course is a mentored, self-produced concert involving the following: Commissioned solo for Senior performance. Choreographer must be approved by Faculty 1 semester before concert via choreographer research proposal. (Showing 6-8 weeks before concert.) An independent group choreography project supervised by faculty and culminating in a finished performance piece. Emphasis on the orchestration of all elements of a concert dance, including music, costumes, and lighting. Organization skills regarding timelines and rehearsal schedules. Promotional development. Collaboration and communication. Strategies for documenting project from proposal to final summary.
Prerequisite(s): DFA 350P  and DFA 474 ; dance performance or ballet pedagogy majors only.
