DFA 470 - Dance Administration

This introductory survey provides an overview of arts management and introduces students to arts administration as a career. The course will focus on arts leadership and management philosophy, organizational structure, financial practices, strategic planning and programming, marketing and public relations, development and fundraising. Attention is given to the application of management principles common to arts organizations in both the nonprofit and commercial sectors.
Prerequisite(s): Dance performance or ballet pedagogy majors only.
