ART 216W - Introduction to Non-Western Art


3 credit(s) Writing Intensive and High Impact Practice: Diversity
Considers major examples of a non-Western culture’s artistic production in its historical and cultural context, and suggests ways of understanding and responding to achievements in the visual arts. Subjects vary by semester among African Art, Mesoamerican Art, Asian Art, Native American Art, and Islamic Art. The specific topic is announced in the Schedule of Classes.
