US 501 - College Teaching Foundations


3 credit(s)
This course prepares graduate students to teach at the college level using a research-based approach. Students will discuss and evaluate key pedagogical concepts and articulate an inclusive, student-centered approach to teaching. Using the gradual release model, the students will become proficient in syllabus construction and course design while integrating critical thinking and technology into their instruction. Students will also create a plan to promote a welcoming classroom for all and a philosophy of teaching statement.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing.
