MGT 713 - Power and Influence in Organizations

course focuses on power as an essential component of strong leadership. Understanding the complexity of today’s organizations, along with the interdependence required to accomplish the work, sets the stage for understanding influence and developing personal effectiveness. Students will examine, discuss, and apply theories and research on power and influence, and influencing without authority. Participants explore their own power and that of those around them. Students generate strategies to accomplish important workplace goals to the benefit of the individual, group and organization.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing.
