HTA 236 - Improvisational Acting

This course will provide the skill set needed by the actor to possess spontaneity and creative invention in performance in the second year of training. Two styles of improvisation will be covered: (1) Improvising on the given circumstances of scripted material without including the dialogue (2) Comedy Improvisation: improvising immediately off of audience suggestion. The acquisition of these skills will be augmented through an examination of the historical development of modern improvisational practices.
Prerequisite(s): HTA 111 , HTA 121 , and HTA 131 .
