Computer Engineering Minor

This minor provides both students matriculating into bachelor’s degree programs in other colleges of the University, particularly the sciences, and the other engineering majors with an introduction to the discipline of computer engineering. The minor consists of six courses chosen from the list provided and is not available to B.S. Electrical Engineering degree candidates.

All courses must be taken at the University of Hartford and must be taken for a letter grade. A grade point average of 2.33 (C+) must be achieved in the minor.

Course Requirements for the Minor in Computer Engineering

Students must take six courses from the following list:

ECE 231 - Digital System Logic 3 credit(s) AND
ECE 232 - Digital Laboratory 1 credit(s) taken concurrently
ECE 234 - Digital Design Using CPLDs 3 credit(s)
ECE 332 - Microprocessor Applications 4 credit(s)
ECE 335 - Computer Architecture 3 credit(s)
ECE 336 - Computer Systems Laboratory 3 credit(s)
ECE 341 - Discrete and Continuous Systems 3 credit(s)
ECE 435 - System Simulation 3 credit(s)
ECE 440 - Digital Signal Processing 3 credit(s)
ECE 481 - Electrical Engineering Special Problems 1–6 credit(s) (Topic must be computer oriented.)

Students must satisfy all course prerequisites for courses taken in the minor or obtain written permission from the instructor.
