DPT 635 - Integrated Experience III

This course is a continuation of DPT 625  and is designed to provide physical therapy students with practical application of principles and techniques learned during the academic portion of the semester and a greater appreciation for the field of Physical Therapy. Students participate in a weekly half-day clinical experience at selected acute, subacute, or outpatient site in the greater Hartford Community including University Physical Therapy, LLC. Using the skills developed in the curriculum and previous experiences, students expand their ability to evaluate, diagnose, and provide intervention for a wide variety of patients/clients in physical therapy. Students broaden their clinical decision-making, reasoning, judgment, and reflective clinical practice skills, and are expected to demonstrate professional behaviors in all interactions with patients, clients, families, caregivers, and other health professionals. This course also continues to facilitate the development, measurement and assessment of professionalism.
Prerequisite(s): DPT 625 .
