EDY 301 - Birth - 3: Early Identification & Intervention


3 credit(s)
This course will focus on typical and atypical development of children from birth to age three (infants and toddlers). All areas of development will be included: physical health and well-being, language and communication, adaptive skills, cognitive, and social-emotional. Assessment of development will take into account developmental milestones and developmental differences. Formal and informal assessment tools utilized for screening, early identification, evaluation and intervention will be learned for use during home visits, in early care and for use in working with families. Family focused and centered planning will be addressed. This course will requires observation and direct work with this age group.
