CER 345 - The Malleable Object

The course focuses on the many ways in which ceramic processes are used in a sculptural context. Potential associations with objects and spaces will be explored, and emphasis will be placed on the technical skills needed to produce the work. Further objectives will include: the creation of individualized materials palettes, exposure to a variety of specific construction methods, exploration of alternate surface treatments including some mixed media, and the introduction to a variety of firing processes.
Prerequisite(s): CER 220 .
