TH 676 - Music Theory Colloquium .5 credit(s) The Music Theory Colloquium is a course for undergraduate and graduate music theory majors and minors to discuss issues related to their music theory analytical studies, projects and activities. Colloquium topics include the study of music theory analytical procedures and devices, the role of music theory within the musical community, matters of genre, aesthetics and style, and the importance of professional music theory organizations that influence and support music theorists (regional and national professional societies, universities, foundations, etc.). Students will have the opportunity to give music theory analytical presentations and write critiques for music theory analytical presentations. Students will also be able to meet with visiting guest scholars. Undergraduate and graduate music theory majors and minor are required to enroll every semester for the Music Theory Colloquium.
