INT 723 - Art and Place Reconsidered 3

A location may consist of multiple geographies, narratives, histories, and cultures. This course consists of working with local artists and cultural practitioners from a residency site in the Americas. Readings may include post-colonial studies, issues of representation regarding specific regions in the Americas, indigeneity, craft, and the natural and industrial history of the residency location. Artists from the site will contribute examples of practices that are hyper-local and address important issues of the 21st century.
Prerequisite(s): Matriculation in the MFA Interdisciplinary Art program.
