MSOT 601 - Occupational Therapy Practice with Children and Adolescents

Examination of functional implications of pediatric conditions. Fundamentals of occupational therapy theory and practice applied to children, adolescents, and families. Course content emphasizes client-centered, occupation-based, family-centered, and empowerment of client participation. Students will examine frames of references and principles of assessment and intervention, socio-cultural and political factors influencing occupational performance of children and families. Students will complete documentation for evaluation, treatment planning, goal setting, and discharge while keeping ethical issues that may arise in mind.
Prerequisite(s): MSOT 500 , MSOT 501 , MSOT 502 , MSOT 503 , MSOT 509 , and MSOT 512 . Corequisite(s): MSOT 602 .
