MSP 386 - Montessori Mathematical Mind and Cultural Studies

Montessori educators in this course focus on cultural studies that are intentionally designed to lead the child to an intelligent and imaginative exploration of the world. Dr. Montessori’s “mathematical mind” and its spontaneous development in human beings is elucidated in order to understand how to guide the child from concrete thinking to abstraction. Essential course content includes identifying the child’s process of classifying the world, problem solving and critical thinking. Supervised practice hours and fieldwork hours are required for this course.
Prerequisite(s): MSF 280  and MSF 281 .
