PROT 300W - Pre-OT Seminar II 1 credit(s) This course is designed to introduce third-year pre-occupational therapy students to the profession of occupational therapy and guide them during their Bachelor’s in Health Science coursework. Students will explore contemporary issues in world health care and United States health care policy. Included in this inquiry will be research and discussion related to aging populations, cultural diversity, technology in health care, palliative care, and disability. This course will emphasize the development of critical thinking skills. Guest lecturers are provided by clinicians regarding their professional development plan. Students will complete a review of their academic record to ensure preparedness for entry into the graduate occupational therapy program. Students are expected to have membership to and attend a Student Occupational Therapy Association event as well as attend ENHP Day. This course will emphasize writting skills. Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into MSOT program or Health Science program.
