INS 400 - Cybersecurity Risk Management & Insurance

This course will introduce students to key risk management and insurance issues in cybersecurity and privacy management and help them develop a basic understanding of related business, technical, legal and ethical issues. Emphasis will be placed on defining private and proprietary information, appreciating internal and external threats and vulnerabilities, understanding the costs of cybersecurity and privacy events, preparing for and measuring cyber-attacks and privacy threats, analyzing the legal, regulatory, and self-regulatory landscape regarding cybersecurity and privacy, developing a cyber-resilient organization, and valuing the role that cyber insurance, loss control and risk management play for businesses and individuals alike.
Prerequisite(s): INS 210  or permission of instructor.
