COM 703 - Advanced Composition (AD)

3 credit(s)
Private composition instruction intended to advance students’ compositional technique and understanding of how their work fits into ongoing developments of compositional techniques, aesthetics, and technology. Individual strengths and needs are addressed through the mastery of both classical forms, technical studies, and the creation of new, original work. This is the second of a sequence of four semesters of intensive study and mentorship to lead the student to a level of understanding culminating in a Artist Diploma degree (AD). Students who complete this curriculum successfully will be qualified to continue work at a professional level in the field. At its conclusion the student will present a portfolio of the entire two year’s output for evaluation by the program faculty in an exit interview.
Prerequisite(s): COM 702 .
