INS 525 - Cybersecurity and Privacy Risk Management and Insurance 3 credit(s) This course introduces students to cybersecurity and privacy risk management & insurance concepts. Topics include a foundational emphasis upon various types of private and proprietary information, internal and external threat actors, and monetizing costs of international data breaches and privacy losses. Preparing for and measuring network security and privacy threats and analyzing business, technical, legal and ethical issues are also explored. Lastly, cyber-resiliency and valuing the role of risk control and risk financing (including cyber insurance) is an integral part of the course. Prerequisite(s): INS 210 or graduate standing or permission of instructor. Note(s): Students who have taken INS 400 - Cybersecurity Risk Management & Insurance (formerly INS 490) are not eligible to take INS 525.
