INT 722 - Art and Place Reconsidered 2

A location may consist of multiple geographies, narratives, histories, and cultures. This course consists of experiences of place that provide facets of the history, culture and contradictions of a specific site. The course will be augmented with readings that may include post-colonial studies, issues of representation regarding specific regions in the Americas, indigeneity, and the natural and industrial history of the residency location. Artists from the site will contribute examples of practices that are hyper-local and address important issues of the 21st century.
Prerequisite(s): INT 721 .
