COM 320 - Compositional Techniques

In-depth study of compositional techniques, primarily for composers and theorists. Emphasis on writing and drill instead of analysis, giving the student a foundation in most technical aspects of composition. Course includes some discussion of aesthetics issues and music’s relation to the other arts. Usually offered alternate years.
