HCID 370 - Human-Centered Design

3 credit(s)
Computational technology takes on many forms: watches, phones, household appliances, and vehicles. This technology succeeds or fails based on the effectiveness of its corresponding interfaces. In this course, students are exposed to the fundamental concepts of human focused design, using quantifiable and qualitative means and procedures to inform the design process. Readings in perceptual theory, along with noteworthy human computer interactions (HCI) experimentation studies, will serve as the basis for determining effective design. Students will use project-based learning to prototype and test interfaces to existing software systems while learning to formulate measurable results.
Prerequisite(s): HCID 220P .
Laboratory fee.
