ADT 496S - BB-Analysis and Design of Urban Settlements

In this class the students will learn the basics of analysis of settlement layouts and processes of development, and some principles of urban planning that is dynamic and open to change and evolution. The course includes 5 modules: Observation, documentation and analysis of streets and places; Introduction to Urban Morphology; The network analysis of built space; Codes, Patterns and Rules: the vernacular building process in the Mediterranean area; Ecology, Resilience and Urban Form - Master planning for change.
Prerequisite(s): ADT 156 , ADT 232 , ADT 244 , or junior standing
