UIST 160 - Game Development, Robotics, and Computational Thinking


3 credit(s)
This course is an introduction to computational thinking with an emphasis on problem solving. Students learn and practice logical thinking through computer programming, game development, and applying cutting-edge technologies. This course is a learn-by-doing course: students are exposed to programming, game development, and other forefront technologies through hands-on activities and projects. Students build up a variety of games and explore advanced technologies in order to develop quantitative reasoning and to apply basic mathematical concepts such as proportionality, rendering, and texture mapping. This course is appropriate for students with little or no programming experience.
