RAD 477 - CT Procedures I


3 credit(s)
This course will introduce the student to CT imaging procedures of the head, spine and musculoskeletal system. Anatomy and physiology with considerations for imaging planes, pathological considerations/recognition, protocol and patient considerations (i.e., pediatric, geriatric, bariatric, trauma), post-processing presentations and landmarks will be discussed. Patient exam setup including indications for use of contrast media and the necessary scan/prep delays and effects on images will be reviewed. Finally, the student will be exposed to additional procedures such as vascular, biopsies, drainages and aspirations pertinent to the head, spine and MSK system.
Prerequisite(s): ARRT certification in radiography (R), current CPR certification, and appropriate state licensure, or permission of instructor.
