COM 300P - Songwriting Workshop III

2 credit(s) High Impact Practice: Collaborative Learning

Topics that support ongoing development and maturation of firmly acquired songwriting technique include: composing songs in a wider variety of contexts, forms, and styles; creative use and invention of increasingly complex chord progressions, additional strategies for crafting effective lyrics and song titles, development of more complex melodies, harmony, and hooks; introduction to arranging concepts, and continued focus on creative collaborative songwriting strategies.
Prerequisite(s): COM 201P , composition major enrolled in the commercial music/songwriting emphasis, or music major with permission of instructor.
