NUR 619 - Scholarly Inquiry in Nursing

This course focuses on the evidence-based implementation process through critique of written research reports and the application of quantitative or qualitative research methods to the development of an Evidence-Based Intervention (EBI) proposal. Emphasis is placed on the relationship of research to the knowledge base of nursing and on the utilization and communication of current evidence to influence practice in all settings. Students will focus on the critical thinking skills required to identify and appraise the best evidence available to support nursing practice. Importance is also placed on the professional nurse’s role in the application of research as evidence-based practice.
Prerequisite(s): Matriculation in the Master of Science in Nursing program.
