DPT 516 - Foundations of Professional Practice II

This course is designed to introduce Physical Therapy students to the clinical environment with the purpose of facilitating the development, measurement, and assessment of professionalism. Students will investigate issues impacting professional practice including cultural competence, the APTA code of ethics and standards of practice, roles of health professionals, physical therapy practice settings, and effective interprofessional communication. In addition, this course provides Physical Therapy students with practical application of principles and techniques learned during the academic portion of the semester and a greater appreciation for the field of Physical Therapy.
Prerequisite(s): Physical therapy major and DPT 515 .
