MSOT 606 - Health Promotion, Wellness, and Program Development in the Community

Theory and practice of occupational therapy in health promotion in the community with special emphasis on the cultural context of the community. Students will study health promotion and prevention using individual and group models of service delivery for community-dwelling people. Integrates knowledge and skills for the practice of occupational therapy services which foster healthy development; prevent health problems; maintain optimal function; and develop occupational performance skills of individuals, families, and communities. Students will create a community-based health and wellness program using evidence and occupation-centered principles.
Prerequisite(s): Accepted into MSOT program. Corequisite(s): MSOT 609 .
