BL 608 - Business, Law, Compliance and Society

This course helps students understand the ways business decisions affect and reflect society. Because the decisions of managers, including global managers, influence and are influenced by public policy changes and moral issues, students learn how to integrate economic, social, legal, regulatory, and moral considerations into decision making. Specific topics include ethics and social values, an introduction to law, torts (including products liability), contracts (including arbitration provisions), constitutional law, intellectual property, and employment law. In addition, business regulation and compliance (including cybersecurity) will be explored along with implementing business process changes to support regulatory guidance and enforcement. This course is not open to MSAT students.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing.
