BL 720 - Regulatory Compliance

Many businesses are regulated by federal and state agencies including public companies, medical providers, insurance companies, and others. This course examines compliance with laws and regulations at the federal and state levels. At the Federal level, this course reviews evolving compliance with anti-kickback and anti-money laundering statutes, Sarbanes and Dodd-Frank requirements, False Claims Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, ERISA and the Affordable Care Act as well as worker protection provisions. State regulatory compliance issues involving highly regulated industries such as insurance are also discussed.
Prerequisite(s): Graduate standing.
