NUR 704 - Systems Based Practice in Health Care

This course provides an overview of a systems approach to improve health care. The U.S. health care system is working toward improved performance in safety, quality, value, and health outcomes in a complex environment. To accomplish these broad goals there is a need for advanced specialty knowledge, robust technology supports, supportive cultures, leadership, and new incentive structures. The student will examine and apply the role of the advanced practice nurse to a systems based approach to improving health care and patient outcomes.
Prerequisite(s): Matriculation in the DNP Program.
