DFA 160P - Performance Techniques


1 credit(s) High Impact Practice: Collaborative Learning (with DFA 150P)
This course focuses on the enhancement of performance skills for movement artists. Performance attributes are isolated for study and exploration. Subject matter will cover, for example, “presence” and projection, spatial awareness, phrasing, dynamic change and transition, motivation, intention and meaning-making, use of imagery, building of imaginative character, environment and “back story,” response to sound/musicality, interaction and rapport.
Prerequisite(s): None for Dance Performance and Ballet Pedagogy majors. Open to non-majors by audition.
