FWS 119 - Foundation 4D Studio I

An introductory required course for all art students exploring time-based media. This course investigates strategies of photographic documentation, manipulation, and animation from compositional, sequential, and narrative points of view. Students in this course will develop technical control over lens-based image making and digital post-production processes, exploring camera anatomy, lighting, and composition vocabulary as applied to both still photography and video. Emphasis is placed on the techniques and understanding of time-based media as a viable tool for use in contemporary artistic practice.
Prerequisite(s): Open to Hartford Art School students only.
