MUM 441 - Business of Artist Management

In this course, students explore the backbone of the artist management sector of the music industry. The course provides an in-depth review of the connection between music and its fans, the creative process and its agents, the facilitation of studio recordings, touring, sponsorships, negotiation, market positioning, and how best to utilize social media to effectively promote an artist’s ideas and/or artistic brand. The course provides a clear picture of the manager’s influence in an artist’s career in the 21st century.
Prerequisite(s): MUM 120 .
