Introduction to the physical and mechanical properties of soils, application of the principles of soil mechanics to the design of footings, retaining walls and pile foundations. Evaluation of earth slope stability, and foundation settlement. Laboratory work, and written and oral presentation of results included.
Prerequisite(s): ADT 355.
