MPT 361 - Immersive Music Production Techniques

This course is designed to provide introductory instruction in the theoretical, technical, and aesthetical approach to multi-channel and immersive music production techniques. Topics covered in this course include the history of 3D sound, binaural reproduction over headphones and loudspeakers, surround sound, height channels, object-based audio, soundfield (ambisonics), wavefield synthesis, and multi-channel mixing techniques. These skills are critical for emerging audio professionals in a wide range of professional settings including music production, game audio, post-production film, and augmented/virtual reality.
Prerequisite(s): MPT 360 or permission of instructor.
