ENG 152D - Introduction to African American Literature

This course introduces students to major authors, texts, and themes in African American literature from 1800-present. Special attention is paid to the ideas that have shaped African American written expression during that period and the genres (autobiography, poetry, prose, fiction, drama) in which those ideas are communicated.
