PSB 235 - Human Attachment and Bonding

This course examines the latest scientific knowledge about children’s emotional development while integrating up to date research from attachment theory, neuroscience, and developmental psychology. The course also examines the most significant influences on the developing child, family development and our social context. Looking at the importance of attachment and bonding from the womb, pre-school, childhood, adolescent and adulthood developmental stages. The course will cover topics such as genes and environment, trauma, neglect and resilience. This course would be appropriate for those interested in entering the human services, education, psychology, counseling and/or mental health professions.
Prerequisite(s): PSB 105  or PSY 105 .
