UISS 111 - Innovative Business for the Future


3 credit(s)
This course is an application of business principles to interdisciplinary concepts and issues. In particular the course looks at cutting-edge concepts in science, technology, the environment, the arts, music, society, and culture, and applies these concepts to innovative business thinking with a view to creating ethically sound, environmentally friendly, and financially successful business ideas for the future. The course covers small and medium businesses, as well as large corporations. Students will also study nonprofit business enterprises. Students will acquire a sound foundation in personal and business finance, entrepreneurship principles, marketing and promotion and will apply this knowledge in an interdisciplinary final presentation and term project. This course is not open to Barney majors.
