UIST 111 - Life on the Edge: Living in Extreme Environments

3 credit(s)
This course examines the reciprocal relationships between humans and environments, particularly extreme environments. It considers the challenge of humans living “on the edge” from a variety of linked perspectives: the challenge of facing extreme environments (such as polar regions, space, and manmade and natural disasters), the technologies and strategies used to survive the extreme environments, and the long-term effects environmental challenges have on people and society.
