DPT 510 - Diagnosis and Intervention: Musculoskeletal Dysfuntion Lower Extremites 3 credit(s) This course provides an in-depth study of orthopedic injuries and disorders in the lumbosacral spine and lower extremities. Topics covered include etiology, pathophysiology, clinical findings, prognosis, and treatment approaches, including medical, surgical, and physical therapy methods. Students will learn to examine, evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with musculoskeletal disabilities and functional limitations. The course emphasizes exercise prescriptions, manual therapies, physical agents, and functional outcomes, along with risk reduction measures for potential musculoskeletal issues. It also addresses the psychosocial aspects of patient management and documentation. A critical review of research findings on musculoskeletal examination and intervention is included. Prerequisite(s): DPT 500 , DPT 536 and DPT 537 . Corequisite(s): DPT 519 .
