DPT 512 - Therapeutic Interventions Laboratory

This laboratory course is designed in conjunction with DPT 511  to enhance psychomotor skills for the design and implementation of physical therapy interventions concerned with exercise, manual techniques and biophysical agents for individuals with a variety of conditions. Topics included in this course are the management of different types of pain, the indications for use of biophysical agents such as thermal, cold, and electrical modalities, progression and regression of exercise programs based on individual responses, and mechanical and manual therapy techniques. Adaptation of implementing biophysical agents and exercise based on cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, or the integumentary systems will be considered. Documentation, billing, and ethical practices related to intervention techniques will be reviewed.
Prerequisite(s): DPT 500  and DPT 501 . Corequisite(s): DPT 511 .
