TH 512 - Advanced Counterpoint

An advanced course in the writing and analysis primarily of tonal counterpoint. Topics include techniques of canon (diminution, augmentation, retrograde, inversion, three voices, double canon), invertible counterpoint (two voices, three voices), and the multiple fugue (double fugue, triple fugue). Usually offered alternate years. Three hours weekly.
Prerequisite(s): TH 511.
