NUR 705 - Scholarship for Advanced Nursing Practice I

The student develops their Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Project in this course. Minimally, the first three chapters of the project are written; data collection may also start when appropriate. Students will construct the key elements of an appropriate practice question, critically critique and synthesize the scholarly literature identifying the gap the project will address, and select a project design and method for implementation. This course requires extensive one-to-one mentoring with their DNP project advisor. Students are required to complete 150 practice hours that should be distributed across the 10 Domains of the AACN Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education. This hands-on component is essential in addition to the theoretical work represented by the written assignment.
Prerequisite(s): Matriculation in Doctor of Nursing Practice program and MGT 719.
