DPT 741 - Pelvic Health in Rehabilitation

This course is designed to introduce physical therapy students to current techniques used to evaluate and treat individuals with pelvic health impairments. Students with develop sound skilled evaluation and learn to derive diagnoses, prognoses, and plans of care. This course includes further depth of knowledge into the musculoskeletal system. Topics include anatomy and physiology of the pelvic girdle, review of the peripartum period and urinary, colorectal, and sexual health systems. Clinical decision-making, hypothesis generation, and evidence-based practice are emphasized throughout the duration of this course.
Prerequisite(s): Physical therapy major, DPT 3.
