DPT 538 - Foundational Clinical Seminar II

This course examines the implications of practicing as a clinical doctorate professional with consideration for the importance of nutrition, diagnostic imaging, and patient education in physical therapy practice. Students will be introduced to foundational principles of nutrition with a focus on the implications for physical therapy. Students will develop an awareness of the diagnostic interpretation of pathologies and anatomical variations from imaging such as roentgenography (x-ray), computed tomographic imaging (CT), diagnostic ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Students will also discuss how educational psychology and learning science can support patient, professional and community health education.
Prerequisite(s): DPT 515 .
