DFA 326 - Contemporary Dance Forms I

This course will explore at a basic level varied styles of contemporary methods and current trends grounded in traditional techniques. The course will provide the student with fundamental connections of contemporary movement styles to traditional techniques. This class will strengthen the dancer’s connection of core muscles groups to the extremities to develop a stronger awareness of movement sequencing, coordination and articulation. Focusing on an organic awareness of the kinesthetic self in space and time, with a strong emphasis in nurturing artistic sensibility.
Prerequisite(s): DFA 223 . Open to non-majors by audition.
